PS4 dominiert Europa – Marktanteil von 70-90%

Was viele bereits vermuteten, wurde nun durch SCEE Präsident Jim Ryan in einem Interview gegenüber VG247 bestätigt: Die PS4 hat Europa voll in seinen Bann gezogen. Wer nun von einem kleinen Marktvorteil gegenüber dem Konkurrenten aus dem Hause Microsoft denkt, irrt sich, denn laut Ryan hält man in allen europäischen Ländern einen Marktanteil von mindestens 70%!

Ryan: „Well, we have market leadership in every country in Europe, and have very significant market leadership in continental Europe. Extremely significant. I don’t think market-share’s any less than 70%, and frequently greater than 90% in continental Europe.”

Diese tollen Statistiken sind zum einen ganz schön, für die SpielerInnen jedoch ein Nachteil. Denn Sony sieht so keinen Grund den Preis ähnlich wie Microsoft bei der Xbox One zu senken. Es wird wohl noch etwas dauern, bis die PS4 günstiger wird.

Ryan: „Consumers, equally and more importantly, appear to he happy with the price and the value proposition. We’ll leave it where it is for now.”

Noch ein interessantes Detail am Rande: Während Sony einige Krachertitel erst für 2016 angekündigt hat, kann sich der Publisher erlauben das diesjährige Weihnachtsgeschäft den Third-Parties zu überlassen. Ein Umstand, von dem Microsoft aktuell nur träumen kann.

Ryan: „I think Star Wars Battlefront looks absolutely fantastic. I’ve actually visited DICE to see it only three months ago, and the way that thing’s come on … I thought it looked absolutely stunning” […] „We’re very pleased to be working with EA on that particular title. Obviously, now having partnered with Activision on Call of Duty it’s of huge significance for us.”
